Theatre Royal Dumfries – Marketing
During the Covid-19 lockdown, I supported the Theatre Royal Dumfries for 6 months while they recruited for a permanent Marketing Officer. I supported them to promote their shows after a period of over 400 days dark while theatre’s were closed due to the pandemic to rebuild their audiences and to onboard their new Marketing Officer.
The Theatre Royal Dumfries is the oldest working theatre in Scotland, it is in the heart of Dumfries and first opened its doors in 1792. It has strong associations with the renowned Scottish Poet Robert Burns who wrote several pieces specifically for its stage. They bring world-class touring productions throughout the year with everything from live music, to stand up comedy and theatrical dramas ensuring that local communities have access to the best performing arts shows in their town.
While I was working with the team, I supported them with their sell-out panto Snow White and the Seven Dwarves with sponsorship, brochure production and marketing of the performance.
Also developing a What’s On guide for the year as well as creating new promotional material that showcased the venue for alternative events such as conferences and other events.
I promoted a variety of performances from lunchtime theatre shows to tribute acts and live music to a sell out run of The Singing Kettle and Comedian Farmer Jim’s sell out tour.
