Music at the Multiverse & Crawick Multiverse

“We had the pleasure of working with Emma Porteous from Porteous Creative during our 2022 and 2023 seasons at Crawick Multiverse.

Emma was commissioned on a freelance basis to deliver marketing and promotion for our Music at the Multiverse event in 2022.  Building on our marketing plan, Emma co-ordinated and delivered a comprehensive social media and advertising campaign, as well as working closely with colleagues on PR for the event.  We experienced 100% growth in audience numbers attending our 2022 event in comparison to the 2021 event.

During 2023, Emma provided consultancy to support Crawick Multiverse core marketing activity, on a one day per week commitment.  Emma was professional and pro-active in working with partners to maximise Crawick Multiverse exposure; and helped to take forward key projects, such as bringing the new Aires offering online.  Brand awareness of Crawick Multiverse increased significantly during 2023 through improvements to our website, targeted advertising and most notably our increased digital presence, boosted through collaborating with an influencer, which directly resulted in an increase in visitors to the Multiverse.

Emma was great to work with and made a valuable contribution to our small Team, helping The Crawick Multiverse Trust to maintain and continually improve our marketing and communications activity during her time with us.”

Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival:

“Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival announces the departure of Emma Porteous, Project & Communications Manager, a key figure in the organisation’s remarkable growth prior to, and recovery and growth following the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

During her time with the festival, Emma has been instrumental in expanding the festival’s reach and engagement with the public. Through strategic initiatives across print, digital, and broadcast platforms, she has fostered a deeper connection with audiences, solidifying the festival’s position as a vital cultural asset in the region.

Emma has also been a strong advocate for the festival’s youth engagement strategy, nurturing the next generation of artists and art enthusiasts. Additionally, her contributions to the year-round Arts Live programme have been pivotal in bringing quality performing arts to more people and places in Dumfries & Galloway than ever before.

Claudia Wood, Chair of Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival, expressed her gratitude, stating, “Emma’s dedication and passion have been invaluable to our organisation. Her innovative approach to public engagement has not only helped us navigate the difficult post-pandemic landscape but also set us on a path toward a bright and sustainable future. We thank Emma for her outstanding contributions and wish her every success in her future endeavours.”

The festival will continue to build upon the strong foundation that Emma has helped create, ensuring that the arts remain accessible and enriching for all residents and visitors of Dumfries & Galloway.”

Theatre Royal Dumfries:

“I have no hesitation in recommending Emma Porteous for any PR, marketing or promotional work. I have had the pleasure of working with her at the Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival for some years, and Emma covered the marketing & Communications role at the Theatre Royal Dumfries during Covid for six months when the post was vacant.

Despite having an already full work portfolio, she managed an amazing volume of work for us, always meeting tight deadlines with high quality work and a cheerful, “can do” attitude. Her time management is impressive. Emma has used her excellent contacts with local and national media, vastly improved our social media output, and is an excellent graphic designer. In addition, she has mentored our new young marketing officer and is always happy to give us sound advice and assistance.”

Mark Alexander, Director of the Theatre Royal Dumfries

GLS Fencing:

“Emma has helped our business on a number of occasions, and we have been absolutely thrilled with the outcomes each time. Marketing is not a strong point of ours and Emma has offered her guidance, knowledge and expertise with every project we have given to her.

A very personal but professional service and often working on short lead times, she always pulled it out the bag for us! Emma has a vast knowledge of the industry, and we trust her advice 100%. We will definitely use her again in the future and would absolutely recommend her services to others.” Lesley Smith, Partner, GLS Fencing

Robinsons Scotland Ltd:

“The team at Robinsons were lucky enough to employ Emma Porteous for over 3 years. Emma was our Marketing Manager, where she employed and managed two Marketing Executives.

Prior to Emma’s arrival, the company did not have a Marketing department – Emma very much launched this function in the business and integrated marketing within the existing business to propel our services & products. As well as promoting Robinsons, Emma strategised for and successfully launched two further “sister” companies – CWP Concrete and FarmFit.

Through the duration of her role, Emma looked after all aspects of our marketing including press releases, internal communications, the upkeep of our websites (as well as being the creative lead on the design of these while working with external companies), SEO, digital and print advertising and the content creation to accompany these, the organisation of attendance at industry events, analysing our marketing activities regularly, and much more.

Emma was an incredible asset to our team and can handle all aspects of marketing at a very high level.” Sarah Warbeck, Office Manager, For and on behalf of Robinsons
